Citation Reports of Northern California Nursing Homes

Below you will find the names of numerous Northern California nursing homes (listed by county) that have recently been cited by the California Department of Public Health and published by the California Advocates for Nursing Home Reform. The most concerning citations are those that range between an “AA” and a “B”. An “AA” citation occurs when a nursing home resident’s death has occurred due to a nursing home regulation violation; this carries a fine up to $10,000. When a violation presents an imminent danger to a resident including substantial likelihood of death or serious harm then an “A” citation is issued, this includes a fine of up to $50,000. All other citations that do not qualify as class A citations but have direct relationship to the wellbeing and protection of a resident are fined up to $2,000 and are considered class “B” citations.
