Glenn County is a rural county located in northern California between Sacramento and Redding. It is known primarily for agriculture, with over 1,188 working farms producing a wide range of commodities, including rice, almonds, milk products, prunes, and livestock. It was named after Dr. Hugh J. Glenn, who was the largest wheat farmer in California during his lifetime. The county’s western portion lies within the Mendocino National Forest, which provides a wealth of outdoor activities such as camping, hiking, boating, fishing, and swimming. However, as with many rural areas, Glenn County’s poverty rates are higher than the state average. A total of 17.5% of all county residents and 16% of seniors live below the poverty line, compared with 11.8% and 10% at the state level, respectively.
With poverty comes an increased risk of financial fraud and abuse, particularly among the most vulnerable populations in Glenn County, including seniors. California Financial Elder Abuse Attorney Ingrid Evans of the Evans Law Firm has many years of experience representing the victims of elder abuse, particularly nursing home abuse and financial elder abuse. She is also highly skilled at handling various financial fraud cases, including annuity fraud, banking fraud, insurance fraud, and securities fraud. Seniors in Glenn County are frequently targets of financial fraud because they are generally seen as “easy targets” by perpetrators. Ingrid pursues her clients’ claims aggressively in the courtroom but takes a caring and compassionate touch when working with them directly. Her passion is achieving justice for her clients, and she has an extensive record of success in standing up for the rights of the elderly, having recovered along with co-counsel hundreds of millions of dollars in damages for her clients.
